Remote access to your data and cloud storage!

The new MX Gateway automatically transmits data from your HOBO MX Bluetooth-enabled (BLE) data loggers, right to the cloud! Now you can use Onset's cloud-based HOBOlink software to remotely manage your data, set alarm notifications, and create custom dashboards. Saves time by reducing multiple site visits.

The HOBO MX Gateway provides near real-time data monitoring for most MX series loggers by automatically transmitting logged data to the HOBOlink® website. You can easily set up the gateway with the HOBOconnect® app on your phone, tablet, or computer. Once configured, the gateway uses Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) to regularly check for measurements from up to 100 loggers within range. Logger measurements are then uploaded from the gateway via Ethernet or WiFi to HOBOlink, where you can set up automatic email or text alarm notifications, display your data in a dashboard, and export data for further analysis. Note: All MX loggers except the MX100 series are supported by the gateway.

Data from the HOBO MX Bluetooth data logger will be automatically transmitted to Onset's HOBOlink cloud software. Ideal for obtaining remote access to data from multiple HOBO MX data loggers monitoring indoor environmental conditions in office buildings, residential environments, warehouses, indoor growing facilities, server rooms, museums, and more. The MX Gateway communicates with compatible HOBO MX data loggers through the HOBOconnect app on a mobile device or Windows computer.

Which HOBO data loggers will work with the MX Gateway?

The HOBO MX data loggers listed in the table above (MX1100, MX2200, and MX2300 series) are all compatible with the MX Gateway. And we will be adding new MX loggers soon!

How do I connect HOBO data loggers with an MX Gateway?

To connect compatible HOBO MX data loggers with an MX Gateway, the loggers must be configured with the gateway option enabled through Wi-Fi or Ethernet in the HOBOconnect app, AND with the same HOBOlink account.

How many HOBO Mx Data loggers can be connected to one MX gateway?

The MX Gateway can support up to 100 HOBO MX data loggers.

Can I use multiple MX Gateway to boost connectivity?

If one MX Gateway has a poor connection to a logger, another gateway in the group can transmit data from that logger instead, expanding the coverage area.

Can the MX Gateway connect to loggers through walls and surfaces?

The range for successful wireless communication between the MX Gateway and HOBO MX data loggers is approximately 100 feet, with full line-of-sight. If there are obstacles between your MX Gateway and loggers, such as walls or metal objects, the connection and the range between loggers and the gateway may decrease.

How often is data sent to HOBO Link?

Data is sent to HOBOlink as often as once per minute.

Ho often is data refreshed in the HOBOlink dashboard?

Data in the HOBOlink dashboard is refreshed every 10 to 20 minutes.

How do data logger alarm events work (measurement alarms, low battery, and stopped logger)?

A time-stamped alarm flag is sent up with the data at a 1-minute rate.

How long before a disconnected MX Gateway triggers an alarm?

It takes 15 minutes for an alarm to trigger in this case.

Can MX water level and pH loggers be used with the MX Gateway?

Yes, but only for applications where the loggers are located indoors, and the top part of the logger is NOT submerged in water.
